Where are they now... ? The Monkees - Express.co.uk

In the late 1960s they had their own TV series and a string of hits, including I’m A Believer and Daydream Believer.

Varying line-ups of the band have continued to tour ever since, though Manchester-born lead singer Davy died in 2012 aged 66. Micky, now 70, has four daughters and lives with his wife, Donna Quinter, in Los Angeles.

A few months after the TV show went on air, we all started rehearsing and went on the road. The songwriters working for us included Carole King and Neil Diamond.

“In its first year, the TV show won an Emmy Award which remains a great highlight in my life – as was attending The Beatles’ recording of their track Good Morning Good Morning at Abbey Road Studios. John Lennon, with whom I hung out a bit, likened The Monkees to The Marx Brothers.

“If I...
